He highlighted Morocco’s efforts to improve price transparency, distribution efficiency, and remove barriers to competition through several sectoral studies. Mr. Rahhou also emphasized Morocco’s strategic role in fruit and vegetable production and export, as well as its involvement in African initiatives such as the Atlantic Initiative and South-South cooperation. He highlighted OCP’s action to enhance food security in Africa through the supply of suitable fertilizers. Finally, he reaffirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to international solidarity cooperation for sustainable development and food sovereignty in Southern countries. Organized every five years by UNCTAD, the United Nations Conference is responsible for reviewing all aspects of the set of fair principles and rules agreed at the multilateral level for controlling restrictive trade practices. As the highest-level meeting on competition and consumer protection at the multilateral level, this Conference brings together ministers, officials from competition and consumer protection authorities, as well as senior officials from member states, including Morocco, represented at this session by the Competition Council and a delegation from the Ministry of Economy and Finance, as well as the Permanent Mission to the UN-Geneva.
