The Competition Council organized the fourth edition of the annual meeting with the media, on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 9:00 am, at the Marriott Hotel, in Rabat.
This annual meeting reflects the importance of the media as essential actors in the competitive ecosystem, given the role they play in raising awareness about compliance with fair competition rules, in the interest of consumers and the competitiveness of the economic fabric.
In this regard, this meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views with journalists on various issues related to competition law and economics, as well as recent developments in this field. It was an opportunity to present two cases handled by the Council and to focus on an important theme by international experts, namely “competition authorities and access to public markets”.
This meeting was also marked by the signing of cooperation agreements with Mohammed V University and Ibn Tofail University, as well as the awarding of the “Competition Council Research Awards” to the winners whose work was selected following the second edition of this competition, launched by the Council in June 2024, to award a research prize to reward doctoral theses and master’s theses in economics, management, and competition law.
In this context, the 1st prize was awarded to Mr. Mohsine LAMOUADANE for his doctoral thesis on “trade secrets in competition law”, the 2nd prize was awarded to Mr. Fouad BENDIAB for his Master’s thesis on “The attractiveness of leniency procedure in the fight against cartels: a comparative study (Morocco-France)”, and the 3rd prize was won by Mr. Abderrahim DAKKAK for his doctoral thesis on “Negotiated procedures in competition law”.
