Press release from the Competition Council regarding the economic concentration project related to the merger between the company “Akzo Nobel N.V.” and the company “Axalta Coating Systems Ltd.”

The Permanent Commission of the Competition Council held a meeting on Wednesday 11 March 2020 at its headquarters in Rabat.

This meeting, chaired by Mr. Driss GUERRAOUI, President of the Council, was devoted to the examination and approval of the economic concentration decision project concerning the acquisition of all the share capital and voting rights of the Company Satcoma-Satas Voyageurs by the Compagnie de Transports du Maroc (CTM).

After a thorough examination of all aspects related to this economic concentration project, and considering that the Moroccan market for road passenger transport is not affected by this operation, the Permanent Commission of the Competition Council decided to authorize it, as it does not raise any horizontal integration risk that could be detrimental to competition in the relevant national market.

It should be noted that the Permanent Commission approved, at the beginning of its proceedings, the minutes of its meeting held on 06 March 2020.
