In accordance with Article 13 of Law No. 104-12 on freedom of prices and competition and Article 10 of Decree No. 2-14-652 issued for its implementation, as amended and supplemented, the Competition Council makes available to the public the ‘operation summary’ below, containing the information provided by the parties.

The Competition Council has received notification of an economic concentration operation concerning the exclusive takeover by the company ‘Siemens Healthineers AG’ of the company ‘Varian Medical Systems Inc.’ through the acquisition of 100% of its shares and related voting rights.

‘Siemens Healthineers AG’ is a German public limited company, headquartered at Siemensstr. 3, 91301 Forchheim in Germany and registered in Munich under number HRB 237558. ‘Siemens Healthineers AG’ operates in the healthcare sector by manufacturing medical imaging equipment, laboratory diagnostic systems, and hospital information systems. It is present in Morocco through its subsidiary ‘Siemens Healthcare SARL’.

‘Varian Medical Systems Inc.’ is an American public limited company incorporated in the state of Delaware, headquartered at Hasen Way Palo Alto 300, California, United States. It is active in the medical devices industry and specialized software development for cancer treatment.
