Press Release from the Competition Council regarding the economic concentration project concerning the acquisition by the company ‘Al Filahi Cash SA’ of the assets of the company ‘Centre Monétique Interbancaire SA’

• The acquirer: ‘Al Filahi Cash SA’;
• Targeted assets: Merchant membership contracts related to the activity of the ‘Centre Monétique Interbancaire SA’ ‘CMI’ for monetary payments on (i) Electronic Payment Terminal ‘EPT’ and (ii) online payment (via credit card (acquisition ‘PEL’ and E-Commerce Gateway ‘PSP’).

NON-CONFIDENTIAL SUMMARY OF THE OPERATION PROVIDED BY THE PARTIES

The Competition Council has received notification of an economic concentration project concerning the acquisition by the company ‘Al Filahi Cash SA’ of the assets of the company ‘Centre Monétique Interbancaire SA’ consisting of merchant membership contracts related to monetary payments on (i) Electronic Payment Terminal ‘EPT’ and (ii) online via credit card (acquisition ‘PEL’ and E-Commerce Gateway ‘PSP’).

‘Al Filahi Cash SA’ is a Moroccan joint-stock company, headquartered at Place des Alaouites, B.P 49 – Rabat, registered with the Rabat Trade Register under number 77731. It operates in the market of electronic payments by card.

The targeted assets are contracts between merchants and ‘Centre Monétique Interbancaire SA’. The latter is a Moroccan joint-stock company, headquartered at 8, Avenue Moulay Rachid Casablanca, registered with the Casablanca Trade Register under number 107713. It operates in the field of studies and electronic payments.
