The Competition Council has received notification of an economic concentration operation concerning the exclusive takeover by the company “Merck KGaA” of the company “Bio-Techne Corporation”, through the acquisition of all its capital and related voting rights.
“Merck KGaA” is a German partnership limited by shares, headquartered at Frankfurter Straße 250, 64293 Darmstadt, Germany. It is listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange under the symbol “MRK”. It is active in the life sciences sector through its Life Science activity, which is mainly focused on providing products and technologies for biopharmaceutical manufacturing, also offering a range of laboratory consumables used in various research processes.
“Bio-Techne Corporation” is a Minnesota corporation, headquartered at 614 McKinley Place N.E., Minneapolis, Minnesota 55413, United States. It is listed on NASDAQ under the symbol “TECH”. “Bio-Techne Corporation” operates in the life sciences sector and specializes in providing research reagents, analysis instruments, and precision diagnostic solutions, primarily for university researchers, biopharmaceutical companies, and clinical laboratories.
