Press release from the Competition Council regarding the economic concentration project related to the merger between the company “Akzo Nobel N.V.” and the company “Axalta Coating Systems Ltd.”

The Competition Council organized, under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God Assist Him, an international conference in Marrakech on November 9 and 10, 2022 on the theme: “Digital Transformation: between regulation and competitiveness”, in partnership with ANRT and ADD.

The choice of this theme is motivated by the current societal changes brought about by digital transformation, enabling ease of exchange and the adoption of new economic models, creating a great complexity of transactions and global commercial stakes.

The conference addressed this theme through six axes: market regulation, service regulation, press and neighboring rights, digitalization of finance, the centrality of data in digital markets, as well as equality in access to information. Panelists discussed these different axes in front of an audience of nearly two hundred people.
