Press release from the Competition Council regarding the economic concentration project concerning the creation of a joint venture by the company “Daimler Truck AG” and the company “AB Volvo”

NON-CONFIDENTIAL SUMMARY OF THE OPERATION PROVIDED BY THE PARTIES

The Competition Council has received notification of an economic concentration operation concerning the creation of a joint venture by the company “Daimler Truck AG” and the company “AB Volvo”.

“Daimler Truck AG” is a German company, registered in the commercial register of Stuttgart under number HRB 762884, with its registered office in Leinfelden-Echterdingen, Stuttgart, Germany, engaged in the development, manufacture, and distribution of trucks and buses.

“AB Volvo” is a Swedish company, registered with the Swedish Companies Registration Office under number 556012-5790, with its registered office in Gothenburg, Sweden, engaged in the manufacture and sale of on-road and off-road trucks, buses, construction equipment, and marine, on-road, off-road, and industrial engines.

The joint venture will be established as a Swedish joint-stock company, engaged in research, development, and marketing of an integrated software platform for vehicles, or SDV platform for commercial vehicles.
