Press release from the Competition Council regarding the economic concentration project related to the merger between the company “Akzo Nobel N.V.” and the company “Axalta Coating Systems Ltd.”

In accordance with the provisions of Article 14 of Law No. 20-13 concerning the Competition Council, the Permanent Commission of the Council held a meeting on Monday, January 09, 2023 at 09:30, under the chairmanship of Mr. Ahmed Rahhou, President of the Competition Council, to examine the files submitted to it by the Council’s investigation services.

At the beginning of its work, the Permanent Commission approved the minutes of its meeting held on January 05, 2023.
The Permanent Commission then decided to declare the operation consisting of the acquisition by Royale Marocaine d’Assurance SA of 19.99% of the share capital and voting rights of Ténor Finances SA as non-notifiable, as it does not meet the criteria to be qualified as an economic concentration operation within the meaning of Article 11 of Law 104-12 on price freedom and competition, as amended and supplemented.
Furthermore, the Permanent Commission authorized the economic concentration operation concerning the acquisition of exclusive control of CS Group SA by Sopra Steria Group SA through the acquisition of 65.26% of its share capital and 68.8% of its voting rights.
