The Permanent Commission of the Competition Council held a meeting on Friday, February 21, 2020 at its headquarters in Rabat.
The members of the Commission proceeded to examine and approve the economic concentration transaction related to the acquisition by Carlisle Companies Incorporated of all the capital and voting rights of Draka Fileca s.a.s.
In this context, the members decided to conduct a thorough study for the finalization of the investigation, in accordance with the provisions of paragraph 3 of article 15 of Law No. 104.12 on price freedom and competition.
During this meeting, the Permanent Commission discussed the preparations for the regional meetings that the Competition Council will organize in a first phase in the Oriental region in Oujda on Tuesday, March 10, 2020, and in the Dakhla – Oued Eddahab region in Dakhla on Tuesday, April 14, 2020.
At the end of this meeting, it was decided to hold working sessions with the Prime Minister, the Presidents of the Chambers of Representatives and Counselors, the High Judicial Authorities, and the National Regulatory and Governance Bodies. The objective of these working sessions is to inform them of the new competences of the Competition Council, and to discuss with them the modalities of their future cooperation, within the framework of the complementarity of missions and the convergence of objectives of national constitutional institutions, with a view to building an integrated national competition ecosystem.
It is also worth noting that the Permanent Commission approved the minutes of its meeting held on February 14, 2020.
