Meeting of the Permanent Commission

The Permanent Commission of the Competition Council held its meeting, via videoconference, on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at 09:30, under the chairmanship of Mr. Driss Guerraoui, President of the Competition Council.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Permanent Commission approved the corrective minutes of its meeting held on November 16, 2020, as well as the minutes of the meeting held on December 11, 2020.

Noting the absence of impacts on competition in the relevant national markets, the Permanent Commission made decisions to authorize the following two economic concentration operations:

• • • • • The establishment of a Moroccan joint venture between the company “Vivo Energy Maroc sa” and the company “Ténor Restauration sarl”;
        • The acquisition of exclusive control of the companies Magriser sarl, Escod sarl, and Riego Centre sarl by the investment fund Amethis Mena Fund II Scav-raif sca;

Furthermore, the Permanent Commission of the Competition Council decided, in accordance with the provisions of Article 26 of Law 104-12, on the inadmissibility of the submission from three companies regarding the tender No. 05/2020/DTM for the acquisition of waste bins for the benefit of the municipality of Taza.

Finally, the President of the Council informed the members of the Permanent Commission of the following points:

• • • • • The signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Competition Council of the Kingdom of Morocco and the National Competition Authority of the Republic of Turkey, dated January 12, 2021, as part of strengthening bilateral relations between the institutions of the two countries;
        • The postponement of the international workshop on the National Competition Barometer to March 17, 2021.
