Following Rekabet’s request for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, several exchanges took place to concretize this shared willingness optimally. The Memorandum was signed between the Competition Council and Rekabet in January 2021 via video conference in the presence of the ambassadors of both parties. This Memorandum focuses first on the exchange of expertise and know-how as well as the transmission of non-confidential information concerning cases of anticompetitive practices or cross-border economic concentrations. It also involves organizing joint events related to common interest topics.
Following a process of exchange and meetings between experts from the World Bank Group, the Competition Council signed a service agreement with the International Finance Corporation (World Bank Group) in January 2020 for a duration of 3 years. This partnership covers the following three components:
- Strengthening the antitrust framework to combat anticompetitive practices and limit the negative effects of economic concentrations;
- Promoting competition in sectoral policies to enhance competitive dynamics in key sectors of the economy;
- Developing an institutional ecosystem to support the effective implementation of competition policy.
