Press release from the Competition Council regarding the economic concentration project concerning the creation of the joint venture ‘Frutivar SA’ by the company ‘Domaine El Bassatine SA’ and the company ‘Sociedad De Inversiones San Marcos Limitada’

In accordance with Article 13 of Law No. 104-12 on freedom of prices and competition and Article 10 of Decree No. 2-14-652 issued for its implementation, as amended and supplemented, the Competition Council makes available to the public the ‘summary of the operation’ below, containing the information provided by the parties.

NON-CONFIDENTIAL SUMMARY OF THE OPERATION PROVIDED BY THE PARTIES

The Competition Council has received notification of an economic concentration operation concerning the creation of the joint venture ‘Frutivar’ by the company ‘Domaine El Bassatine SA’ and the company ‘Sociedad De Inversiones San Marcos Limitada’.

‘Domaine El Bassatine SA’ is a Moroccan joint-stock company, headquartered in Rabat (Souissi) – 5, avenue de la Princesse Lalla Meryem, registered with the Rabat Trade Register under number 108325, with the purpose of establishing and operating an agricultural research and development laboratory as well as the production and marketing of plants for agriculture.

‘Sociedad De Inversiones San Marcos Limitada’ is a Chilean limited liability company, headquartered in Hijuelas (Chile) – Panamericana Norte km 102, registered with the La Calera Trade Register and tax identified in Chile under number 76207250-5, with the purpose of carrying out all kinds of investments.

The joint venture ‘Frutivar SA’, considered in full operation by the notifying party, will aim at the multiplication, cultivation, acclimatization, breeding, and marketing of all types of plants, particularly blueberry and raspberry plants.
