NON-CONFIDENTIAL SUMMARY OF THE OPERATION PROVIDED BY THE PARTIES
The Competition Council has received notification of an economic concentration operation concerning the project for the acquisition by the company “SAS Shipping Agencies Services S.à.r.l.” (“SAS Lux”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of “MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company SA”, of the exclusive control of the company “Clasquin S.A.”.
“SAS Lux”, a Luxembourg company, is wholly owned by the Swiss company “MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company SA”. The MSC Group, headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, operates globally in the maritime container shipping, port handling, logistics, and passenger maritime transport sectors. In Morocco, the MSC Group is mainly engaged in providing regular container shipping services on the high seas.
“Clasquin SA” is a French company primarily active in the cross-border transport commissioning sector, providing solutions for international shipping of various types of goods by air, sea, land, rail, or river. “Clasquin” operates in Morocco in the cross-border transport commissioning and logistics sectors.
